Trauson’s Trauma Product Manager Mr. Zongjun Qin Won the First Prize in Team Competition at the 8th World Traditional Archery Festival for 2014

Time:01-30-2015

As a traditional Chinese game, archery evolves from the arrow-shooting which is espoused and advocated by Confucianism as one of the traditional “six arts” a Chinese gentleman must cultivate and acquire and contains the philosophical connotations of cultivating archer’s the moral sense, maintaining his mentality and strengthening his wills. The archer should follow specific procedures and take named actions to use Chinese Bow (Chinese Traditional Bow) to shoot at the target. The posture, etiquette, will-power and self-cultivation stringently required by the whole process of arrow-shooting can fully train the archer’s soul and body. It not only demands superb arrow-shooting skills but also requires the archer to integrate and elevate the body, mind, bow and arrow into a harmonious “oneness” under the strict guidance of morality. It is an expression of relentless pursuit of high morality, an enduring drive for the perfect union of beauty, strength and exactitude, which is ultimately sublimed into a consistent admiration and longing for truth.

It seems this ancient sport can hardly have any connections with modern ordinary people. However, Trauson’s trauma product manager, Mr. Zongjun Qin has developed a keen interest for this sport. From 2008, Mr. Qin had taken to the exercises of shooting compound bow and started to shoot composite bow in 2012. With the increasing honing of the archery skills, Mr. Qin has built himself a well-known reputation with an impressive record of achievements. To be more encouraging, Mr. Qin has been successfully enlisted into the national team after rounds of competition and screening to take part in the 8th World Traditional Archery Festival held in Danyang-gun, South Korea from Oct. 3rd to Oct. 8th, 2014. After days of fierce competition, China’s national team has beaten South Korea, Hungary, Mongolia and Japan who has preserved the archery as a distinguished historical legacy and defeated the defending champion, South Korea, with a record-breaking total score of 182.

However, behind Mr. Qin’s perfect performance there was a winding detour. In total, about 350 players from 38 countries have participated in this festival. As the host country and defending champion, South Korea was possessed with special advantages of the armament with state-of-art equipment and solid training. Coincidently but unfortunately, a little accident had happened to Mr. Qin. On his arrival in South Korea on Oct. 3rd Mr. Qin began to take some heat-up exercises and got himself familiarized with the sporting field in the following day. But his bow suddenly snapped in the night just before the individual race, which could lead to his give-up of the game or exert negative impacts on his performance. Under this circumstance, Mr. Qin didn’t panic but calmed down. With his teammate’s bows in his hand, Mr. Qin checked into the sporting field two hours earlier than usual to get him accustomed to the new bow. Under the potent conviction of “never giving up”, Mr. Qin finished the game with a total score of 40 points in the individual race, ranking the 3rd in the national team and contributed 42 points to the record-breaking total score of 182 of China’s national team and helped China win the team champion.

“I love archery and I would keep practicing to win more titles and honors for China and Trauson. I am also very proud of being a member of Stryker family! ” Mr. Qin said with a big smile. We are also very proud of having such a wonderful employee! Well done.
