Company Profile


Trauson established in 1986, is one of the pioneering enterprises in China’s  

orthopaedic  industry,  and  the leading  manufacturer of trauma 

products  and  spine products in China by market share. 

In March 2013, Trauson joined Stryker Corporation.



      Brand Strategy

We adopt a dual-brand strategy: Trauson and Orthmed, with Trauson as the primary brand and Orthmed the secondary but faster growing “fighting” brand. Both brands compete in China’s trauma and spine markets and enjoy excellent reputations for quality and trustworthiness. This dual-brand approach gives us flexibility in winning tenders and leverage over major distributors. We currently employ 1200 people, design and produce our products in two manufacturing facilities – Trauson (China) Medical Instrument Company Limited and Changzhou Orthmed Medical Devices Company Limited, sell and distribute our products and services through a nationwide distribution network of more than 460 distributors in over 3,500 hospitals. In addition to our main campuses in Changzhou, we have two regional sales offices in Shanghai (Shanghai Gongping Trading Company) and Guangzhou (South China and Southwest China Branch).

After acquisition, we successfully managed a US FDA inspection of our Orthmed facility, continuing our OEM business with Stryker Mahwah. In addition, our Central Testing Laboratory successfully passed a critical government inspection and obtained CNAS certification (China National Acreditation Service)- the first one that government certified orthopaedic laboratory in China. Since March 2013, our Orthmed facility has become a HighTech company enjoying the HighTech status granted by Changzhou government and receiving significant tax benefits.

As we are striving to build “Trauson” as the trusted company to do business with and the leading brand in the value segment of the global orthopaedic industry. A cross-functional “Fast Response Team” has been established with clear accountability; and “Advanced Technology Team” has been formed under the Chief Engineer’s Office to transform Trauson from a fast follower to a Chinese leader in technological innovation and to become a partner to surgeons, hospitals and research institutions for collaboration. Besides, a “Design & Tech Transfer Center” has been also established to bridge R&D and operations with a focus on quality and on-time launch of new products. Furthermore, Trauson 3D Printing Research Center officially set up on 25th September 2014, which shows that the national brand-Trauson has transferred from China Manufacturing to China Innovation. Later, Trauson Orthopaedic 3D Digital Design Platform came out. All above-mentioned measures make sure we have already prepared well for being in the lead in the value segment of the global orthopaedic industry.

In the long term, we will aggressively pursue opportunities beyond orthopaedics including bolt-on acquisitions to expand our value segment business globally. The road ahead will be full of challenges but the opportunities are vast. Given the remarkable success of Trauson’s integration into Stryker, we are confident in our continued growth in China and our global expansion in the value segment. In the future development, Trauson will speed up the expansion in international market, increase the competitiveness of spine business and market share, enter the artificial joints market and seize the opportunities to enter other rapid growing filed by acquisition.
